Home made muesli bars.

Hi everyone my name is Sienna we have been comparing what is more healthy boxed muesli bars or home made muesli bars. This is my writing on how home made muesli bars are better.

To ALL PARENTS AND CHILDREN!

Hey you know how you buy those unhealthy muesli bars that rot your teeth out? You don't know what they put in the boxed muesli bars. Okay, yes they do write what they put in them but who knows they might put more sugar than what it says on the box you never know.

That's why you should make your own you can control how much sugar you put in them. So you don't have to make a trip to the dentist to get a filling. So in the end you win, and there is no pain for you and whoever pays for the dentist.

Okay you know how I said before there is heaps of sugar in boxed muesli bars? I found a box there was 18.4 grams of sugar in one bar that's a lot! With home made muesli bars you have 50 grams of sugar in the whole recipe that make 30 bars can you see the difference. With home made muesli bars you can cut the sugar down to ⅛ of a cup if you want.

You are probably thinking that boxed muesli bars are cheaper than  home made muesli bars well there NOT! So let's say you go to the supermarket and there are 6 in a box but with home made muesli bars you have 30 per batch so they last longer. At the end of the week you would probably have 19 left for the next week.

So what are you waiting for go down to the supermarket and get what you need to make home made muesli bars.

Maths sharing for juniors

Miss Hudson gave us three cubes for use to think about when we are creating a presentation to share our learning. One was for what subject we wanted to share, the second was for what tool we wanted to use e.g. google slides, doc, poppet then the last cube was for who you shared it with.
Ollie and I created a maths, google slide for the littler students in the school.
This is our creation.

Travel wise Sienna and Riley

Travel Wise

We got to school at around 8:20, got in the car and found out that we had to sit in between 2 car seats but one person got to sit in the front. Riley decided to go in the back because he thought it would be COMFY but he was complaining the whole way there on how uncomfortable it was. When we got their Riley was so happy that he could stretch. We checked in and went in the hall and had a giant space for just us 2 when everyone else had 4 people. So we had to do heaps more work. The first activity was bike safety for us anyway and was probably the best. We did a little bit of safety things like putting on helmets and seeing if they fit. We checked if the bikes that we had were safe. Then played games for the rest of the time like a slow race and an endurance test. After that we did some roll playing and some coding there were no phones left for us so we had to use Jo's phone. We had the best phone when we went around others took forever to scan. Next was morning tea there was 2 full trays of biscuits and 2 full trays of fruit and heaps of juice. After that we went to do some maths and statistics around some speed limits and also we went out and used a speed a gun. One person used the speed gun and another wrote the speeds down on a clip bored after that we went up stairs and did some planning about what our issue is at our school. We did some planning around what we will do to prevent it happening. After that we did a quiz during lunch then we voted on what we learned. Then we did more planning and we also won some chocolate because our quiz was drawn out. After that we got in the car this time it was Sienna's turn to go in the back, Riley was so happy but we were held in traffic because if some poly fest and then when we got to the motor way finally there were lights. As soon as we got back to school it was 3:30 and we left the travel wise meeting around 2:15 so we were in the car for an hour and 15 minutes. We had a great day.

Welcome back from the holidays! I hope 2016 is a wonderful year for you and your family. My name is Miss Hudson and I am a new teacher at Papakura Central School this year. I have come from Bailey Road School in Mount Wellington and I am excited to join the PCS staff. This is an exciting year for PCS as we launch our Chromebooks. This device will provide many exciting opportunities for the students to engage in new and creative ways. They will become more connected and prepared for their future through the learn, create, share pedagogy. We are kicking of the year with Setting Up For Success as our first topic. Our first event is our Summer Picnic and Games to be held on Thursday the 25th of February at 5.30pm at school. Hope to see you all there.
