Hi everyone my name is Sienna we have been comparing what is more healthy boxed muesli bars or home made muesli bars. This is my writing on how home made muesli bars are better.
To ALL PARENTS AND CHILDREN!
To ALL PARENTS AND CHILDREN!
Hey you know how you buy those unhealthy muesli bars that rot your teeth out? You don't know what they put in the boxed muesli bars. Okay, yes they do write what they put in them but who knows they might put more sugar than what it says on the box you never know.
That's why you should make your own you can control how much sugar you put in them. So you don't have to make a trip to the dentist to get a filling. So in the end you win, and there is no pain for you and whoever pays for the dentist.
Okay you know how I said before there is heaps of sugar in boxed muesli bars? I found a box there was 18.4 grams of sugar in one bar that's a lot! With home made muesli bars you have 50 grams of sugar in the whole recipe that make 30 bars can you see the difference. With home made muesli bars you can cut the sugar down to ⅛ of a cup if you want.
You are probably thinking that boxed muesli bars are cheaper than home made muesli bars well there NOT! So let's say you go to the supermarket and there are 6 in a box but with home made muesli bars you have 30 per batch so they last longer. At the end of the week you would probably have 19 left for the next week.
So what are you waiting for go down to the supermarket and get what you need to make home made muesli bars.

Kia ora Sienna,
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, the muesli bars at the supermarket are often full of sugar and I don't think people realise it. I like to make my own muesli bars and bliss balls too that have lots of good nuts in them. Have you tried making homemade muesli bars at school or at home? What recipe did you use? It would be great if you could share it. Keep up the great healthy eating and encouraging others to eat healthy too.

Kia Ora Sienna, I come from Hay Park School and I am a year 5 student. It is true that muesli bars have a lot of sugar, I have to get many fillings at the dentist all the time. I have done something similar. The day before my mum's birthday, we made a homemade banana cake and we just made it with things we had. When we finished baking it, it tasted delicious! If you ever make another blog post, maybe you can include a recipe of making healthy muesli bars?
